Hubertus Heil Visits ENERTRAG Betrieb in Edemissen

Discussion on Work, Vocational Training, and Growth in the Renewable Energy Sector

Yesterday, Member of the Bundestag and former Federal Minister of Labor Hubertus Heil (SPD) visited the new office building of ENERTRAG Operation in Edemissen, accompanied by other political guests. Alongside Heil, Tobias Faust (SPD), Mayor of Edemissen, and representatives from politics and administration attended the event, including council members Christine Malig and Karl-Heinz Haugwitz (all SPD), as well as Hans-Jürgen Giere, Sören Stolte, and Michael Scholz (all CDU). After the official welcome by the Management and site leadership, the focus was on personal exchanges with the staff. During a tour of the new premises, the guests gained insights into the working environment and current projects of ENERTRAG Operation.

Growth and New Competencies at the Edemissen Site

ENERTRAG Operation is consistently expanding its competencies in the technical management of photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS). In Lower Saxony alone, more than 150 wind energy installations with a total capacity of over 400 MW are managed. Overall, ENERTRAG Operations operates from three locations: Edemissen, Dauerthal, and Neuville. In technical management, the company oversees more than 50 MW of PV capacity and nearly 40 MWh of BESS capacity across borders. Services are continuously expanded, including thermographic flyovers offered in both Germany and France.

Focus on Work and Vocational Training

In discussions with Hubertus Heil, topics such as employer attractiveness, personnel recruitment, and training were central. ENERTRAG Operation positions itself as a modern employer in the Edemissen, Peine, and Braunschweig regions. Initiatives in the field of training and targeted promotion of young talent are key components of the company's strategy. Andre Reichert, Head of Operational Services at ENERTRAG Operation, emphasizes: "On April 1, 2025, we brought together all PV and BESS specialists into a new team to advance the expansion of our services more strategically. The experiences of our inspectors on-site and the continuous optimization of our processes are the foundation of our success."

Hubertus Heil (SPD, MdB): "The energy transition is not only a technological challenge but also a social one. I am pleased to see how ENERTRAG in Edemissen not only develops innovative solutions for a climate-neutral future but also plays an important role as an employer in the region by training and promoting young talents. This is a real contribution to the future viability of the energy industry," explains Hubertus Heil.

Michael Dahm, Managing Director of ENERTRAG Betrieb: "The visit of Hubertus Heil is a valuable recognition of our work here in Edemissen. We demonstrate that the energy transition is not only happening on large construction sites but also in the daily operations of our teams: in management, inspection, and the continuous expansion of new competencies. We are particularly proud of our dedicated employees who contribute with passion and technical know-how to reliably and efficiently operate photovoltaic and battery storage systems in the future. At the same time, we want to show young people in the region that careers in renewable energy have a future."

ENERTRAG Operation as Part of the Energy Transition

As a subsidiary of ENERTRAG, ENERTRAG Operation contributes to advancing the goal of climate-neutral energy supply. The technical management of PV and BESS systems is an important component for the operation of hybrid power plants worldwide. By 2027, the supervised PV projects from in-house development will exceed the 500 MWp mark, with BESS projects aiming for 250 MWh.
