ENERTRAG secures 180 MW in the first wind energy tender 2025 - Successful bid for large-scale project Malchow Ost

Dauerthal, March 31, 2025 - ENERTRAG, a leading company for renewable energies and green hydrogen, is pleased about a successful result in the current tender round of the Federal Network Agency.

With awards for wind energy projects totaling 180 megawatts (MW), the company has almost reached its target market share of 5 percent. Particularly pleasing is the award for the large-scale project Malchow Ost with 86 MW - ENERTRAG's largest single project in this round. The company was also able to secure the highest-awarded project in the tender with the Penkun 1 project.

On March 25, 2025, the Federal Network Agency published the awards of the tender for onshore wind turbines for the bidding deadline of February 1, 2025. A total of 506 bids with a bid volume of 4,896 MW were submitted, with a tendered volume of 4,094 MW. The tender was therefore oversubscribed. 422 bids with a total capacity of 4,094 MW were awarded, while six bids were excluded.

The highest awarded price was 7.13 cents per kilowatt hour (ct/kWh), while the lowest awarded price was 5.62 ct/kWh. The average volume-weighted award value was 7.00 ct/kWh, a slight decrease on the previous round (7.15 ct/kWh).

ENERTRAG sees its own tender result as confirmation of the careful preparation, the detailed modeling of the bidding strategy and the strategic coordination.

"We are delighted with this strong result. It shows that a well thought-out approach to tenders and our dedicated team can make a difference," says Tom Lange, Head of Development Wind & PV Germany at ENERTRAG. "With this success, we are making another important contribution to the energy transition and strengthening our position as a leading player in the renewable energy sector."

The increasing number of approvals for wind turbines raises the question of whether there could be an oversupply in future tenders. This makes the Federal Network Agency's announcement to increase the tender volumes for the three upcoming rounds from 2025 from 2.5 GW to 3.44 GW each all the more important. This creates predictability and gives the industry the necessary perspective for further expansion.

With this result, ENERTRAG enters the upcoming tenders in a stronger position and continues to support the expansion of renewable energies.
