How billing works

Logging and checking data

ENERTRAG Powersystem automatically reads all billing-related meters remotely, with each reading undergoing a multi-stage plausibility check. The user is guided through the billing process via an intuitive workflow and is shown tariffs, rates, production quantities, grid losses, feed-in readings and any implausible data in a very clear and easy-to-follow layout.

Calculating and allocating income streams

ENERTRAG Powersystem calculates income from each system and substation, both for remuneration from the grid operator and for direct sales. The software then automatically divides the monthly income between the various operating companies and calculates how much each company is to receive.

Approval and transmission

A multi-stage approval workflow ensures that all work steps are followed in the right order, checked and documented. The user can spot any discrepancies in the billing data immediately, address them and give final sign-off to any corrections. Only once checks are complete will the software transmit the results via API to the ERP system or the financial accounting team.

Dynamic PPA rates and real-time prices

Power purchase agreements (PPAs) have become increasingly important since EEG funding was discontinued for many existing systems. Some electricity traders agree rates that change every hour or even every 15 minutes, and ENERTRAG Powersystem reflects this dynamic pricing structure in full: the software obtains quarter-hourly prices from the electricity exchange and calculates remuneration automatically based on actual feed-in data.

Redispatch 2.0 and technical resource operator services

Operations managers who apply Redispatch 2.0 using the “planned value” model (“Planwertmodell”) will need the technical resource operator feature, as ENERTRAG Powersystem will handle all of the associated services for them:

Calculating curtailed energy: the software calculates the total curtailed energy under the model of final settlements based on actual feed-in and transmits the results – including weather information – to the transmission system operator.
Allocating income streams: redispatch compensation is automatically allocated to the relevant systems and operating companies.
