  • 1983 Studied nuclear engineering at the Energy Institute in Moscow 
  • 1988 Diploma thesis on the subject of reactor safety
  • An internship planned from June 1987 at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant could not take place due to the explosion of the reactor in unit 4 on 26 April 1986

Professional background

  • 1989-93 Engineer at Kraftwerks- und Anlagenbau AG in the field of reactor safety, later responsible for renewable energies there
  • 1990 Responsible for the safety report for the Lubmin/Greifswald nuclear power plant
  • 1991 Participation in a wind energy study for the state of Brandenburg
  • 1993 Founding partner of Uckerwind Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH 
  • 1993 Commissioning of the first own wind turbine
  • 1997 Foundation of Uckerwerk Energietechnik GmbH as managing partner
