ENERTRAG Announces Appointment of Enos Banda as CEO of its South African business

Cape Town, South Africa 1 October 2024 – ENERTRAG, a global leader in renewable energy, collector-grid, battery and green-hydrogen solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Enos Banda as the new Chief Executive Officer of ENERTRAG South Africa, its South African operation.   

The appointment marks a significant step for ENERTRAG, headquartered in Germany, in moving towards implementation of its substantial renewable-development pipeline in South Africa. 

“I am excited to step into the role of CEO at ENERTRAG South Africa during a period of rapid transformation and notable grid challenges in the energy sector,” says Enos Banda. “Our goal is to drive meaningful change by leveraging the ENERTRAG global innovations and pioneering work that I’ve been involved in on the South African grid development and investment. I believe now, more than ever, global innovation, local expertise and collaboration are key to achieving a successful energy transition,” said Enos.  

Enos brings decades of experience in the energy sector. He is a former chairman of the energy regulator, has worked as a senior executive in the energy industry, and led both listed and unlisted companies as a senior executive or board member. Recently he founded Green Transmission Company, which has started working on grid infrastructure development in South Africa, and which will explore collaboration with ENERTRAG. He is a thought leader and, in a career spanning over two decades, has expressed his leadership through a balance of entrepreneurship in the private sector, government, academia, and the nonprofit sector.
