ENERTRAG welcomes Brandenburg's Digital Minister Dr. Benjamin Grimm to Dauerthal
As part of his digital summer tour, Brandenburg's Minister of Justice and Digitalization, Dr. Benjamin Grimm, visited ENERTRAG's headquarters in Dauerthal yesterday. The focus was on the digitalization of the energy sector, innovative solutions for the energy transition and ENERTRAG's role as a pioneer for sustainable and digital infrastructures in Brandenburg.
On site, Dr. Grimm learned about the intelligently controlled networking of wind and hybrid power plants, the use of hydrogen technologies and the development of digital platforms for the energy industry. He particularly highlighted the practical solutions that ENERTRAG is using to shape the energy transition and strengthen security of supply.
Dr. Benjamin Grimm, Minister of Justice and Digitization of the State of Brandenburg:
"ENERTRAG's integrated power plant impressively demonstrates how digitalization and renewable energies can go hand in hand. Intelligent control systems, green hydrogen technology and networked energy storage systems are already making possible today what many are calling for in the future: a stable, clean and completely CO₂-free energy supply. Dauerthal is not only a technical pioneer, but also a clear sign of innovative strength in rural areas."
Dr. Anne Bendzulla, Member of the Board for Generation at ENERTRAG:
"We are very pleased about Minister Dr. Grimm's interest in our digital solutions. Digitalization is not just a tool for ENERTRAG, but a central component of our corporate strategy. It enables us to generate renewable energy efficiently, safely and sustainably - and thus make an important contribution to the energy transition in Brandenburg and beyond."
Anja Bonelli, CDO at ENERTRAG:
"Our digital platforms and control systems are the backbone of modern energy supply. The exchange with state politics is essential for us in order to jointly create the framework conditions for innovation and growth. We are convinced that digitalization and the energy transition can only succeed together."
Following the tour of the electrolyser in Wittenhof, the control room and the company presentation, the participants discussed the opportunities and challenges of digitalization in the energy sector. ENERTRAG presented specific projects - from the real-time monitoring of plants and the use of AI to optimize energy generation to the integration of hydrogen as a flexible storage solution. In the Uckermark region, the company operates an integrated power plant with 610 MW of wind energy, biogas, batteries and over 600 kilometers of cable network, which is fully digitally controlled. Supplemented by the company's own Powersystem software, this creates a platform that makes energy systems efficient, resilient and transparent.
The approval department used an example of a permit with many folders in multiple copies to show where bottlenecks and additional work still occur despite the digitalization of authorities. Minister Dr. Grimm took great interest in these everyday problems and offered his support. Finally, board member Dr. Anne Bendzulla presented the progress and procedure regarding the implementation of artificial intelligence at ENERTRAG.
With the Minister's visit, ENERTRAG is sending a strong signal about the importance of digitalization in the energy sector and underlining Brandenburg's role as a location for innovation in the energy transition.
