Reference power plant Lausitz
Real-world laboratories of the energy transition funding programme
Mission
At the Schwarze Pumpe Industrial Park site, the innovative power plant concept, which utilises exclusively renewable energies such as wind power and photovoltaic systems, will demonstrate the possibilities of sector coupling. The production of green hydrogen, which enables the utilisation of renewably generated energy in the transport, industry and heating sectors, is an important step towards reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
In addition, the project of the partners Energiequelle, ENERTRAG and Zweckverband Industriepark Schwarze Pumpe will open up new value creation potential for the region and will serve as a reference for the conversion of conventional power plant sites to renewable energy generation.
