Verbundkraftwerk Pasewalk

Green Hydrogen from the Berlin-Szczecin Industrial Park

The Verbundkraftwerk Pasewalk, located in the “Berlin-Szczecin Industrial Park,” includes the construction of an electrolysis plant on 6.5 hectares in two expansion stages for the regional production of green hydrogen.

The site is part of the EU-funded IPCEI projects (Important Projects of Common European Interest) and makes a significant contribution to Europe's hydrogen ramp-up. The transformation from natural gas to green hydrogen requires building a comprehensive, hydrogen-based value chain. This includes large-scale electrolysers and a stable supply of green electricity from renewable energy sources.

The hydrogen will be transported via the Flow pipeline and by trailer. The electrolyser will be powered by renewable electricity from the region. Power supply is provided through a substation with an integrated collection grid operated by ENERTRAG.

"Hydrogen is an indispensable building block for the energy transition and offers solutions for decarbonising various sectors, from heavy industry to long-haul transport. By linking directly to our nearby wind and solar farms, this electrolyser will not only produce green hydrogen, but also promote further industrialisation in the region and increase local value creation."
